Smoking just one cigarette means that you take in over 4,000 chemicals.
Not only is it unhealthy for your body it is unhealthy for your wallet as the average price of a pack of 20 cigarettes is around £5.20. That's £1,898 a year you could save!
It all started when I was 15 me and my mates would meet down the park and hang out, at first we just used to smoke fags and drink cans and beezers but after a while that got boring. One day my mate Pete brought a spliff down that his brother had given him, we all had a couple of drags and it was awesome, better than fags and easier than drinking loads of booze - I felt relaxed and we all have a proper laugh.
Soon we all started smoking weed, we'd get a couple of bags and split it between us and smoke pretty much every night. After a while, I started to get my own and then I'd have a smoke in the morning and one before I went to bed. I'd hang out my bedroom window so my Mum couldn't smell it.
When I turned 17 me and my mates started drinking at the pub on the corner and the older lads were really into the clubbing scene. One Saturday me and my group of mates got chatting to these older lads and they said it would be easy for them to get us in the club coz they knew the bouncer. We thought it was awesome, being underage and getting served the lot, but the best bit was the dealing in the toilets I mean it was my first time in there and some bloke gives me a pill for free! Mint! Frankie, my mate was like ìthatís awesome you didn't even have to pay for it, he's my beer go on neck itî. So I swallowed, the rest of the night was a blur I remember dancing and lots of spinning but the worst was when I woke up in the hospital in the morning with the nurse standing over me "Youíre lucky to be alive, whatever you took had been cut with another chemical we think bleach and you had a very bad reaction to it". I lay there for a minute and wondered why I took that pill, I didn't know what it was or where it was from.
From then on I cleaned up my act, I dropped the mates who weren't going to agree that getting clean was the right thing to do. Now it is just me, Frankie and Tommy, we get kicks from other things like 5 a side and the PS3. Not smoking was hard at first but once Iíd done a week, a month soon past and I haven't touched drugs for a year and 4 months.
